“Pity the Nation”: Lebanon seen through the eyes of an exceptional journalist

Pity the Nation

Pete Myers speaks with the award-winning journalist Robert Fisk about his book “Pity the Nation”, an exceptional account of the civil war in Lebanon and Fisk’s first-hand experience of the troubled Middle East. He was, for example, one of the few outsiders to enter the Syrian city Hama, the year thousands were massacred there by the Assad regime. Fisk also discusses not so much facts but getting the facts, and what journalism should be all about.
