Among the many adventures that storyteller Pete Myers loved to recount was his time in the then entertainment capital of the Middle East: Beirut in the 1970’s. He arrived just before the outbreak of civil war in 1974 and helped to run a night club on glamorous Phoenicia Street in the Lebanese capital. Many years later, now middle-aged, Pete Myers and fellow Radio Netherlands’ producer Ginger da Silva visited Beirut for the first time since Pete’s wild and youthful years there, to trace the path of his memories of a very different time.
