Pete Myers was “one of the most innovative and magnetic broadcasters to grace the international airwaves in the second half of the 20th century”, according to the former Radio Netherlands’ programme director, Jonathan Marks.
Pete passed away in 1998 at the age of 59. He started his career as a young presenter in Ghana, spent 11 years as the star presenter of “Good Morning Africa” with the BBC’s World Service and worked for 22 years at Radio Netherlands.
In April 2019, Jonathan compiled recollections of Pete and his role in changing international broadcasting from Europe: Much more than a talent to amuse.
