The programme is part of the Radio Netherlands’ Transcription Series “We made a hoe and went along”, produced in 1986.
The programme traces the development of farming from precolonial days of producing for people’s own consumption to the colonial practice of large-scale capitalist agriculture. The land was taken away from the people.
