This is an unedited 40-minute interview with His Holiness the Dalai Lama, the spiritual leader of Tibetan Buddhists and one of the world’s most revered advocates of non-violence and altruism. The interview was made at an unknown location by an unidentified journalist, possibly a correspondent commissioned to do the interview for Radio Netherlands weekly Asia magazine “Asiascan”, hosted by Peter Myers and Mike Bullen. The interview was recorded on November 7, 1989, shortly after the Dalai Lama had been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, on the eve of the collapse of communism in eastern Europe and the end of the Cold War.
