It is difficult to adequately assess the political and spiritual importance of the life of Mahatma Gandhi (1869-1948). He was assassinated in Delhi on January 30, 1948, but his legacy as an ethical beacon, icon of the modern age, and father of modern India lives on to this day. This programme was produced to mark the 50th anniversary of his death.
