Martha Hawley visits Cameroon, where music is an integral part of everyday life and reflects the diversity of the country. Traditionally, it was part of the search for solution to social problems. The drum was important in burial ceremonies, as well as a form of telecommunication. But there is also the dilemma of preserving the old while pleasing the new concert crowd.
