Martha Hawley

Martha Hawley joined RN as a translator and newsreader, going on to produce weekly magazines and documentaries, with a focus on social and cultural issues.

Martha was raised by US-Canadian parents near New York City.  She studied in the USA, Colombia and the Netherlands, and worked in Paris, Hong Kong and New York before moving to Amsterdam.

Her programme on the unique social history of the Panama Canal Zone, “Once a Zonian” won a silver medal in the community affairs category at the New York Festivals, and “Dry Winds: Egypt’s War on Words,” was a finalist for the UN Department of Public Information Award.
