In this two-part special, Hélène Michaud visits Dutch doctors Hugo and Liesje Tempelman, who set up a desperately needed medical centre in a township in South Africa in 1994. Their Ndlovu Medical Centre in Elandsdoorn Township in Mpumalanga has continued to thrive and expand over the years. Hélène was shown its many projects and facilities: a maternity ward, an AIDS centre, a nutrition unit, an ambulance, a kindergarten, a garden and a bakery. It is development aid at its most basic level.
