Hélène Michaud

Hélène Michaud was born in a small French-speaking community in Canada’s only bilingual province, New Brunswick. In 1990, she started as a presenter for the French African Service of Radio Netherlands. Later, Hélène went on to become a full-time documentary and features producer, travelling extensively and contributing to programmes for the Canadian Broadcasting Service and the BBC World Service.

Hélene’s heart lies in Africa. She worked on the exchange of co-productions with a large network of radio stations on that continent. In 2015-2017, she headed the Dutch diplomatic post in Goma in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Throughout her career, she was a trainer (of trainers) for media practitioners and development organisations.
