The Research File visits the BPRC in Rijswijk. At the centre, there are 1500 apes and monkeys, which are used to test new vaccines for malaria and AIDS. Some say that this is cruel. Others argue that in the quest to find a vaccine for AIDS, the humane use of apes is justified. Carl Stiansen visits the centre and is shown around by its director, Ronald Bontrop. To get the other side of the story, Stiansen interviews Geoffrey Deckers (1969-2020) of the Een Dier Een Vriend animal rights organisation.
