Sustainable Development on St. Lucia

It’s only about 230 square miles in area, but the tiny island of St. Lucia is emblematic of the challenges facing sustainable development in the fragile environment of the Caribbean. We visit CANARI, the Caribbean Natural Resources Institute, and look into how impressive development projects in St. Lucia are confronting the Caribbean legacy of a natural world radically transformed by plantation agriculture, mining and tourism.
