Roald Dahl (1916-1990) was without a doubt the most successful 20th-century children’s book author in the pre-Harry Potter age. In 1982, he was guest of honour at the annual Children’s Book Fair in Amsterdam, where Nevil Gray caught up with him for our weekly culture magazine “Talking To” . The programme was rebroadcast to commemorate Radio Netherlands’ 50th anniversary.
