In this programme, John Hammond (1933-2012) looks at male circumcision in Africa, which sometimes goes horribly wrong. He interviews a Dutch doctor who explains how this operation should be performed and explains the risks. The programme also contains an interview with the leader of a new opposition party (SLDP) in Sierra Leone, and Subry Govender reports on South African pressure on Botswana.
