A Harmony of Lutes: Homage to an ancient worldwide family of instruments

This musical journey through the centuries and across world cultures takes us to the Middle East, Japan, India, China and 16th-century Europe. Guest musicians introduce us to string Instruments  that are among the many various members of the lute Family. These include  the “grandfather” of the lute,  the Turkish and Arabic oud , the silk-stringed biwa from Japan, the 2000-year-old Chinese pipa, the sarod from India and the European Renaissance lute.
