Dheera Sujan looks at domestic violence in the Netherlands. Official figures show that 43% of the Dutch population has at some time been the victim of either physical, sexual or mental cruelty. Shelters are overcrowded. Dheera visits a shelter in Leiden where she meets a battered wife and her 10-year-old son.
