Dutch agriculture in crisis?

Some say it is a call for change. But which change? All critics seem to agree that Holland can’t sustain its position as a major food exporter. Animal welfare must be strengthened. The livestock breeding industry must be restructured, and intensive farming has to be scaled down. There also needs to be a reduction in the number of farms and farmers in the Netherlands. Laura Lurnford has been discussing how and to what degree with experts from Wageningen University.
