The United Nations Children’s Fund is an organisation which resonates with hope for our tomorrows but rings with despair for all our yesterdays. Hope because children are our future, despair because we seem have learned nothing from our past.
As UNICEF turns 50, reporter Jaldeep Katwala wonders if it’s time to celebrate all that has been achieved or reflect on all that still needs to be done. Is it a time to look back with exuberance or temper it with fear for what has been and what is still to come?
