This programme was broadcast to mark the 50th anniversary of the death of Soviet dictator Joseph Stalin (1878-1953). During 25 years of terror and tyranny, from 1927 until his death, Stalin reshaped both the physical and human landscape of his country through gigantic projects that ignored the humanly feasible. In the documentary “Stalin: The Engineer”, we look at how Stalin moved earth, people and their very minds.
