This Research File was made at a time when scientists were asking whether a genetic factor is involved in a person’s sexual orientation. Research was underway into such questions as the structure of the brain, the psycho-social environment of a person during childhood and the hormonal environment of the womb as factors that might determine whether a person is likely to be heterosexual or homosexual. We present the latest evidence from the scientific community.
