Destiny brought together two men from different worlds: one a Padaung tribal from the Hill Tracts of Burma, the other an ivory tower Cambridge don. The meeting would change both their lives forever. Pascal Khoo Thwe became the first Padaung to read English literature at Cambridge University. His book, “From the Land of Green Ghosts”, won the prestigious Kiriyama Prize for Literature.
