David Swatling presents a portrait of British film-maker Derek Jarman (1942-1994). His first film was “Sebastian”, spoken in Latin. Others include “Caravaggio”, “The Last of England”, “Edward II” and “The Garden”. He also published his journals, “Modern Nature”, seen by some as a celebration of gay sexuality, as well as a treatise on the joy of gardening.

In the interview he talks about his work, his life, his health (he was diagnosed with HIV in 1986) and his general attitude towards life.
