Hélène Michaud takes us to Malaysia. This country in southeast Asia has been in political turmoil since the sacking last year of Deputy Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, who is now being tried on charges of sodomy. The bitter power struggle between Anwar and his mentor Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad prompted thousands of people to go out on the streets and call for “reformasi” or political reform. In the programme, Hélène looks at the impact of Anwar’s trial and speaks to some of the people behind the reformasi movement.
