
In this unedited interview, Robert Green meets East German conductor (and at the time) music director of the Netherlands Opera, Hartmut Haenchen. The topic of discussion is the production of Wagner’s 4-opera Ring cycle, which Hanechen is conducting (with three different orchestras), his interpretations of Wagner’s music, using sources never used before, the burden on the musicians, the dream or nightmare of conducting Wager, etc. Robert also asks a few questions about his carreer and future plans.
