Scopitone was a cultural phenomenon of the 1960’s in France and the United States. It combined a jukebox and a film projector, a kind of forerunner of the music video-clip. David Swatling talked to a collector of these oddities. We also hear about the Turkish film “Yol”, which in 1982 won the Golden Palm at the Cannes Festival. 17 years later, in 1999, it was shown in Turkey for the first time. Why did it take so long and what is the importance of this first showing?
