David Swatling visits the 11th International Documentary Film Festival in Amsterdam. Its “gay” programme featured several impressive films. David meets the maker of “You can’t go home again”, a study of writer and gay activist Klaus Mann (son of), who killed himself in 1949. He talks to the maker of “The man who drove with Mandela”, a South African theatre director who was active in the anti-apartheid struggle in the 1950’s and 60’s. And then there is the film “Two Dads”, which focuses on two men fostering six children.
