In 2005, the United Nations held an emergency to announce the startling fact that within the next 30 years, the world’s great apes will ALL be extinct. In other words, by 2035, there will be no chimpanzees or gorillas or orangutans left on the planet! But why are they disappearing? And is there anything we can do to stop that happening? In “All but gone: Last chance to save the great apes”, Anne Blair Gould finds out how logging, bushmeat and monkeys in the pet trade are killing of our closest relations.
