Every year the Netherlands is the favorite stopover of millions of migrating birds, including one-and-a-half million geese. It’s all about location, location, location. The Netherlands has the world’s best conditions for these birds:  proximity to masses of water (geese sleep on the water surface at night to be safe from water-shy predators like foxes) and the vast, endless, lush and nutritious Dutch grasslands. We follow the movements of geese in the northeastern provinces.
