In this “Siren Song” special series on the senses, we begin with one of our most overlooked senses, the sense of smell. And yet it is difficult to imagine the world without such pleasureful wonders as the scent of flowers, the smell of coffee and freshly baked bread or perfume. Every single time we breathe, we inhale the smells around us—over twenty thousand times a day.

Produced and presented by Dheera Sujan.

Broadcast: November 15, 1996
